1. The chaplain while representing Covenant Hospice in public will provide speeches and prayers that are non-sectarian and interfaith in content. Exceptions to this rule will be limited to funerals, memorial services and clinical interventions that are requested by the patient/family.
E. Displays ability to communicate well in sensitive areas.
F. Demonstrates understanding of medical and terminal illness, including related
symptomatology and procedures.

I. Possesses thorough understanding of contract care to provide chaplain services for patients/families in hospitals, nursing homes, and adult living facilities.
J. Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
1. Collaborates with team members to establish initial Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
2. Completes the Chaplain progress note within 48 hours of visit or telephone contact.
K. Assumes primary responsibility for own professional development
1. Completes orientation activities within the 90-day probation period.
2. Provides Human Resources with copy of ordination certificate and appropriate diplomas.
3. Updates skills through participation in seminars, workshops, etc.
4. Attends staff meetings.
5. Participates in volunteer training and community education activities as requested.
6. Assists in the review and development of hospice policies in regard to chaplain services.
7. Promotes a positive image of hospice care throughout the community.
L. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Clinical Manager or Director of Branch Operations.
M. Required to comply with all Covenant Hospice Policies, Procedures and Personnel Policies, including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and response.
